I'm Herbert Brown — you can call me Satch. Software Engineer I at Hope Enterprise, where I build things that matter. Self-taught coder who picked up a Python book and never looked back.

I launched my first app, Groovist, a tool for anyone in the vinyl community.

My philosophy: it's not enough to make something work — I want to understand why. That curiosity drives everything I build, whether it's a physics game, a CSS tutorial, or an all-vinyl DJ set.

I also serve on the Board of Directors (and as Treasurer since 2013) for The Algebra Project — a math literacy nonprofit. Former teacher there. Published poet and essayist too.
